The aim of introducing Vocational Education in Schools aligned with NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework) is to prepare the student as productive and improve their vocational efficiency maintaining the global competitiveness under diversified courses.
The main objectives are to cater the gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower aligned with academic institutions and industry and reduce the dropout rate in schools in Tripura. The State Government in School Education Department of Tripura has implemented the vocationalisation of school education aligned with NSQF in 24 schools of the state in 3 sectors namely; IT-ITeS, Electronics & Hardware and Agriculture approved by PAB, MHRD, GoI.
The Samagra Shiksha, School Education Department, Government of Tripura has introduced National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) compliant Vocational Education Programme in 3-sectors namely; IT/ITES, Electronics & Hardware and Agriculture in selected 24 Government Higher Secondary schools under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan with single sector in each school in different Districts from April 2019 in Class IX onwards.
Now, Vocational Education (NSQF) is implementing in 205 Schools of Tripura.
